Mixed Liquor Settling

On May 7, 2007, samples were taken from a certain brewery's aerobic lagoon. These samples were analyzed at River Bend Labs for a number of factors including micronutrient deficiency.

The first cylinder is control. To the second cylinder we added 1000 ppm FeCL. To the third cylinder we added 250 ppm of Floc Load to increase loading capacity and density to floc. Floc Load is a cation seeking mineral aggregate that will also increase bacteria flocculation which will in turn decrease polymer consumption for clarifiers and solids dewatering equipment. To the 4th cylinder we added 250 ppm of our product - Perfect Blend. This is a proprietary blend of dry mineral aggregate used to enhance the growth of proper well settling heteratrophic bacteria by providing nutrients and trace elements. We then performed a bench scale study using four unox reaction chambers with diffused air.

After 48 hours we decanted 500 ml of the aerobic waste into four different graduated cylinders. See Fig. 2 for the settling results.
